Yellow Tail / Cabernet Sauvigion

1st IMPRESSION...It was nice. Fairly smooth, no to overpowering in any one taste. A bit generic if you will. It has a slight pepper taste to it and little alcohol can be felt in the throat. No too fruity at all a bit dry. Will probably be a nice wine to bring to a party or for dinner. Inexpensive, popular yet still has a nice taste. If the people drinking are really into wine, I would choose something else.

Rex Goliath / Pinot Noir

Amanda and I tried this wine on a recommedation from a wine store clerk. We both liked it alot! I got a bottle for my mother and she loved it as well. I will have to post more details on the taste after I open the next bottle in my wine cabinet.

UPDATE: This is a fantastic full bodied wine! Rich and sofisticated! Slight pepper taste no alcohol burn and and all around treat! This is one of my favs!!!

Blackstone / Merlot

Another staple in my wine cupboard. This was the very 1st bottle of wine I have ever had. Tracy (got me started in this hobby) and I both enjoyed it and I have had a few bottles since. I will comment further after I drink another bottle so that my impression is a fresh one.

UPDATE:
I think my tastes have grow. If not grow at least changed. I am not caring all that much for this glass of Blackstone Merlot. :(

Guenoc / Cabernet Sauvignon

1ST IMPRESSION: Very light and smooth. Easy drinking with a nice light fruity taste. Not much of an alchol burn in my throat. I would definitely eat a meal with this wine as it is not over powering at all. The down side is that it tastes a bit watered down to me.

UPDATE: This wine was VERY enjoyable. It was a great wine to just sit and drink. It has definitley moved up near the top of my favs list. I will be buying a couple more bottles next time I go to the wine store.

INFO: I went to a few Wine stores and all are out of this wine. I was told today that it is a big seller and a "good buy". I guess other's like this one as well. I am still searching! :)

Francis Ford Coppola / Merlot

Very heavy and peppery for my tastes. It has a bit of a slick oily feel in my mouth. Too rich for me to enjoy even one glass.

UPDATE:
OK OK!! I must be growing in my wine palette. This wine was great this evening! Full rich and delicious!

Bogle / Old Vine Zinfandel

My 2nd favorite to date. I will comment further after I drink another bottle so that my impression is a fresh one.

Rancho Zabacho / Zinfandel

A very smooth simple wine. I have had many bottles of this and thouroughly enjoyed them all. I will comment further after I drink another bottle so that my impression is a fresh one.

UPDATE: This has been my main wine basically since I started drinking wine. I had another bottle last night and after having the Guenco Cabernet Sauvignon, I am moving Rancho Zabacho down from my fav to my fav "Red Zin" and no longer my overall fav. It is still very enjoyable, light, smooth and probably goes with most anything. For me. We had it with home made pizzas last night and it was a fine mix! It is silly but I like the label on the bottle as well! :)
